Common "Star signs" are assigned using Tropical Astrology

We use the true position of the constellations.

There are many different systems of Astrology but the most commonly used system in the West is Tropical astrology. The dates used in Tropical astrology may suggest that you are a "Gemini" or "Capricorn" for example but the actual location of the sun in the sky could indicate otherwise. The sun travels through 13 signs, not 12 and this fact changes the popular and common dates used by Tropical Astrology.

True Sidereal Astrology differs from the more commonly used Tropical Astrology.

One crucial difference is the use of the actual constellations present in the modern day sky.

Tropical astrology uses the vernal equinox in the Northern Hemisphere to measure the start of Aries and not the actual position of the constellation Aries.

Tropical astrology uses the position of constellations that were recorded a couple of thousand years ago! The sky has now shifted due to what is known as "The precession of the equinoxes".

Tropical astrology does also work because of the energy and aspects shared between planets regardless of what sign or house they are placed in but it's my strong opinion that you can't really be a "Gemini" if the sun is positioned right in the middle of Taurus at the moment of your birth!

The sun and moon work to amplify surrounding energy and the use of their real position in the sky can produce a far more accurate picture of events.

Your sun sign makes up a large part of who you are but there is so much more to your birth chart. We carefully check the actual position of your planets in each personal natal chart report.
