Ophiuchus which is Latin for "serpent bearer" or "snake charmer" was apparently left out of the tropical zodiac during the Babylonian age. Considering the sun spends more time in Ophiuchus than it does in the better known constellation of Scorpius I think it at the very least deserves a mention!

If you were born between 30th November and 17th December chances are the Sun was actually in Ophiuchus. Although you may have believed otherwise your entire life, you actually represent a different archetype than that of the Scorpio or Sagittarius.

Associated with the God of medicine "Asclepius" (son of "Apollo") in Greek mythology and said to provide healing powers and incredible strength to those born under the sign, Ophiuchus natives may also be-

  • Adventurous

  • Ambitious

  • Brave

  • Calm under pressure

  • Charismatic

  • Determined

  • Expressive

  • Fearless

  • Fiery tempered

  • Honest

  • Impulsive

  • Insatiably curious

  • Intuitive

  • Obsessive

  • Passionate

  • Restless

  • Stubborn

The sign Ophiuchus has been referred to as "newly discovered" however the Sun has always transited through the constellation of Ophiuchus throughout its journey across the ecliptic.

Whether you believe that "The 9th sign" belongs in the zodiac or not the fact of the matter is the sun does travel through the constellation and therefore must have its time to represent the unique energy of Ophiuchus.

Let me know what you think!
